About the Program

Are you ready for STANFORD UNIVERSITY’s  virtual course experience this summer?

We are happy to announce that the application period for Stanford’s Summer Session International Honors Program (IHP) has started!

International Honors Program (IHP) is a collaboration between Stanford University and leading teaching and research institutions from Asia, Europe, and Central America. Selected students from participating universities are welcomed to Stanford’s eight-week Summer Session. This summer 2021 will be completely virtual platform. Students who attended Stanford’s program this past summer enjoyed an exciting array of online opportunities and virtual experiences that complemented their studies.

In 2021, the online program will prioritize small group work, scheduling flexibility, and hands-on learning. The community building programming will meet students on their own terms and foster lasting connections with other students from around the world.

Here are just some of the things SSIHP is planning for this summer:

  • The IHP Alumni Advisor program.Students will be matched with an IHP Alumni Advisor who can answer questions and serve as a mentor and inspiration. Alumni Advisors are IHP Alumni who are hand-selected by the IHP Program Coordinator.
  • Summer Speaker Series.Live and interactive events featuring Stanford experts and thought-leaders. Last summer’s speakers presented on a range of topics from computer innovations, to Hamiltonthe Musical, to an evening with the writers and producers behind Disney’s Mulan. We even hosted our very first Summer Session concert with acclaimed folk musician and Stanford alum Lizzie No!
  • Academic and Professional workshops. These workshops are led by members of the Stanford community, working in entrepreneurship, innovation, and other signature Stanford fields. Two highlights from last summer: workshops hosted by LinkedIn and Google!
  • Pre-Summer advising. These one-on-one sessions with an academic advisor help students select courses and meet their academic goals. Live, one-on-one, and completely personalized, it’s a great chance for students to get guidance to make the most of their summer.
  • Peer tutoring.Tutors are Stanford undergraduate and graduate students who specialize in a specific subject area. Whether it’s one-on-one tutoring, or group meetings, IHP students can get the help they need for their courses, when they need it.
  • The IHP Cohort: A Global Community. The same tight-knit IHP cohort as always  just virtually! This includes social meet-ups and opportunities to network and build community with alumni and each other.

In this program, students may choose from approximately 30+ courses from various departments and earn a Stanford transcript at the end. For more information about the program and for the full listing of courses please visit https://summer.stanford.edu/courses
