We design custom-made programs based on the specific needs of our partners. These programs provide students with an opportunity to have an academic experience at Koç University by receiving lectures from top-tier faculty members, and at the same time getting engaged in a wide array of extracurricular activities. If your institution is interested in creating your own custom-made program at Koç, please fill in this form.

Stanford University

Stanford University and Koç University have a collaboration for an academic program “Stanford at Koç University, Istanbul”. The Program is designed to give Stanford students an integrated study abroad experience in Istanbul and provide them with an opportunity to experience rigorous academics while developing a broad awareness, knowledge, and appreciation for Türkiye, its culture, and its role within the global ecosystem. Students spend their 2022 Fall trimester at KU, taking courses from KU faculty, as well as their own faculty members accompanying the program.
OIP coordinates all administrative, logistical and budgetary arrangements for the program successfully, while an Academic Committee, composed of professors from KU and Stanford, work on the academic aspects. The Program takes place at KU’s facilities on the main campus, and in selected sites for field trips, cultural experiences, and social excursions, primarily in Istanbul, as well as other cities in Türkiye. The students stay in the KU’s on-campus dormitories, with each of them sharing a rooms with fulltime KU students of Turkish origin, in order to ensure the intended cultural exchange.

We hosted University of Bradford students and Dr. Shahid Rasul this week for their three-day study visit. It was an enlightening experience that celebrated the values of leadership, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

The entrepreneurial spirit at Koç University was palpable, as students were exposed to innovative initiatives and groundbreaking projects that aimed to tackle real-world challenges at KWORKS Entrepreneurship Research Center.
Some of the other visits included: Ashoka Türkiye, Hepsiburada, Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation and the Istanbul Chamber of Industry.

Northeastern University

OIP hosted students from Northeastern University with the 10-day “Dialogue of Civilizations” for a series of seminars with KU professors, a corporate visit to the Arçelik Plant in Gebze, and several extracurricular activities to get to know Koç and Istanbul closely. We hope for this program to be the first of many to build new bridges between civilizations.

This photo was taken just before Assoc. Dr. Murat Ergin’s seminar on “Cultural Boundaries in Contemporary Turkey”. Hereby, we would like to thank the Northeastern students who participated in our program, Dr. Mohammad Dehghani from Northeastern University, and Koç University professors, students, and staff for their unwavering support.
