About Program: 

The Oasis Training is an 8 day intensive training where students experience the unique way of approach community transformation using the Elos Philosophy and Oasis Game.

The program will take place from 27th of August till the 4th of September in Santos, Brazil. The program is a full-time program filled with group activities and in direct interaction with the community.

Students will experience the impact of the realization of a collective dream through the Oasis Game, in a challenging environment, full of sociocultural and socioeconomic diversity. The Oasis Game is a community mobilization tool, developed by the Elos Institute and applied by the Institute itself and by young entrepreneurs in different parts of the world. It’s a cooperative game that allows the realization of a collective dream, using local resources and talents in a short time.

Students will go through a community mobilization and transformation based on the 7 steps philosophy and the awarded tool of the Oasis Game. In a group mixed with some Brazilian partners students will work hand in hand with the community, looking for their inner strength and beauty, their talents resulting in a talentshow, getting people united around collective dreams for their territory and mobilizing them to design a strategy of implementation of this dreamproject in a short time.

As a group students will have a deep dive experience into appreciative enquiry, relationship centred work, co-designing methods, while at the same time you’ll work two days of the program shoulder to shoulder with people to make the dream project come true.

Student will learn by doing how to use this tool afterwards in their own context and along the way learn about the principles and practices of building community. The 8 day program will be facilitated by two or three experience facilitators and will be an intense immersion in the Brazilian abundant life in favela’s, while students will have the opportunity to kick back and breath in our Espaço Elos, an small piece of quite and rest in a nature reserve in the middle of the city.
