As the Koç University Office of International Programs (OIP), we are very thrilled to be holding our annual International Staff Week & Study Abroad Fair from 8-12 May 2023!

During this week, the participants from different institutions will get a general overview of Koç University, participating universities, and how institutions create a welcoming climate for both students and staff from all backgrounds with thoughtful cross-cultural experiences.

Our program will mostly revolve around the international offices of our partner universities and the areas that we will be exploring will largely be exchange programs, international student experiences and partnerships.

While participants enjoy week-long thought-provoking discussions and sessions with colleagues from all around the world, they will also enjoy the cultural beauties of Istanbul and Türkiye.

8-12 May 2023 at Koç University, Rumelifeneri Campus, Sarıyer/Istanbul

 

Who should attend?

Colleagues who are responsible of/work with international students, partnerships, projects, mobility or education programs.

All events will be held in English therefore a B2 proficiency level will be sufficient to join the program.

Koç University Office of International Programs invites colleagues from its Erasmus+ International Mobility (formerly known as ICM) Program partners to participate in this week-long event as part of the Staff Mobility program.

 

What is the program fee?

250 Euros (to be paid through the payment form)

The cost covers the weekly expenses of domestic transportation (to and from the university and the off-campus visits), lunches, Welcome Dinner, and Old City Tour (Sultanahmet Tour).

Refund Policy: 100% until March 17, 50% until April 14, no refund available after April 14*

* A 100% refund is possible only under the condition that the participant cannot participate to the event due to contracting COVID-19. In that case, we require medical report.

 

What is the agenda?

Study Abroad Fair
As part of the program, participants will also present their institutions to Koç University students during a day-long Study Abroad Fair. It gives the chance to connect with KU students directly and to increase awareness of the diverse mobility opportunities with our esteemed partners all around the world.

Registration
We kindly ask interested colleagues to register and complete the payment through the link below by April 14, 2023.

Invitation Letter
Colleagues who require an invitation letter may obtain one from us upon filling out the participation form and completing the payment of the participation fee.

Once these steps are complete, colleagues may refer their request to oipstaffweek@ku.edu.tr along with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Institution

 

If the invitation letter is needed for a visa application, the information below must also be included:

  • Nationality
  • Passport number
  • The name of the Turkish embassy/consulate being applied to

Travel & Accommodation
Each participant is expected to make their own travel arrangements. OIP advises participants to arrive in Istanbul one day before the start of the Staff Week.

You may check the nearby hotels if you wish to stay close to the campus or any hotel close to the M2 metro line is a suitable choice with easy transportation. We will be providing a shuttle service from the Hacıosman metro station to the campus in the scope of the Staff Week program.

 

Below, you may see some of the hotels our previous participants have accommodated in. Please kindly note that we don’t have any partnerships with these hotels.
